Objective
I am interested in continuing my path as a dedicated writing professional who believes in my ability to assist my employers to complete their goals and to reach their target audience with the most timely and entertaining yet informative work possible. I search for the most productive work environment possible, yet am also willing to take on assignments free-lance. I'd like an educational environment, where I can continue to learn, and take on more responsibility. With a background in marketing, I fully believe in my ability to reach my target audience. I enjoy challenges, and am a firm believer in feedback both ways. I work well in professional settings, as well as more casual environments, although this may be just window dressing working free-lance at the moment. I have an extensive proven history of accepting new responsibilities, advancing quickly, and honing new skills; I am searching for an atmosphere which will promote this.
Experience
3/2003 – Present Eros-Zine Web Magazine Oakland, CA
Senior Staff Writer
As a staff writer, I was given weekly assignments to research and write in a compelling manner. Our Zine was adult in nature, meaning it was based in erotica and was sex-positive. We did our best to teach about sexuality and teach others not to be afraid of something they may not like and not understand. I went to all the major Trade Shows, such as Adult Erotic Entertainment, Internext, Erotica LA, and the Gentlemen’s Club Expo to make connections, to gather floor interviews by stars like Jesse Jane, Jenna Jameson, Ron Jeremy, and Adam Glassner (Seymour Butts). I did product reviews, book reviews, movie reviews, interviews – both planned and on the fly, sound-off (Op-Ed) pieces, did Sex Trivia, collected (and sometimes enhanced) reader submissions for Sexfessions, a confessional for past “sexcapades.” When there were not enough submissions, I had to write them myself. I wrote fiction, covered all lifestyles, did news briefs, articles, sexy spreads, which is an interview with a model or starlet and a gallery, and featured events. Each year, I am known for my famous Valentine’s edition, my review of the AEE events, the Halloween event calendar, the Christmas toy suggestions sock, and much more. I have 250+ bylines to my name with over 100,000 unique readers per day.
